FREJA is a
general purpose test board based on a large FPGA and capable of
producing stimuli and receiving the outputs from all the different TFC
boards. FREJA processes the test data and returns the results via a
dedicated user interface. The test principle is based on “predicted
event comparison”.
FREJA is currently being deployed in the production testing and it will
be used for full system tests in-situ during installation and
commissioning before the LHCb trigger and detector front-end electronics
are available. Being completely general purpose it will also be used for
future TFC monitoring during the running of the experiment and
debugging. |
