Adders are Gaudi tasks and are controlled by the ECS as part of the DAQ Infrastructure. There should be one adder per node (to add the histograms produced by the tasks running on that node); one per sub-farm (to add the histograms produced by the node-adders in the sub-farm); and one adder for the overall EFF (to add the histograms produced by the sub-farm adders). The top level adder will see al histograms produced by the system. Eventually the saver process, which subscribes to the data service of the top-level adder will write the saveset to disk in ROOT format. The sub-detector analysis tasks will be notified that a new saveset is available, will analysis the corresponding histograms and publish alarms if they detect a problem.
