Installing and Using the WinCCOA/FSM tools
on Linux or Windows

*** This Version is ready for WinCCOA 3.19 ***

Installation:

• Get the FwFSM Zip file and extract it into a directory (this will create an FwFSM directory inside).
  - On Linux please use "unzip -a"
• Please use the FW Installation tool to install FwFSM
  • Choose FwFSM as the place to "Look for new components"
  • This will install it into the directory of your choice, from here on called "Installation Directory" (can be checked on "Advanced Options").

• Start a DIM Name Server (if not yet done):
• For Windows
  • double click on <Installation Directory>/bin/Dns.exe
• For Linux
  • type <Installation Directory>/bin/Dns
• On your WinCCOA Project Start a Ctrl Manager to serve SMI related Processes
  (it should be kept running all the time)
• WCCOActrl fwFSM/fwFsmSrvr.ctl
• Start a Native Vision Module to Configure and Visualize the System
• WCCOAui -m vision -p fwDeviceEditorNavigator/fwDeviceEditorNavigator.pnl
• Please read the User Manual for guidance.

Tools:

• The library fwDU can be used to add functionality to Device Units inside their scripts.
• The library fwCU can be used to operate Control Units from Panels or Ctrl scripts.
• The library fwFsmTree can be used to dynamically create a hierarchy of Control Units and/or DeviceUnits.
• The library FwFsmUi can be used to tailor the look and feel of FSM top-level panels (experiment specific).
• A generic library to build trees - fwTree - is also available.
