Use of CVS for the LHCb Online Code Repository
The LHCb Online code repository is based on CVS (Code Versioning
System) tool. The distribution for Linux can be obtained from
cvshome.org. In Windows
NT/2000/XP you can use the
WinCVS version.
- Basic CVS commands are described
here
- The complete manual is available
here
- LHCb use of CVS
The LHCb Code Repository resides on the CERN/IT CVS server
from Linux (at CERN)
CVSROOT = :kserver:isscvs.cern.ch:/local/reps/lhcbonline
from Windows users must use the SSH authorization (see
here
for details):
CVSROOT=:ext:isscvs.cern.ch:/local/reps/lhcbonline
CVS_RSH=C:\Program Files\PuTTY\plink
Information about a lot of access methods (in particular also
from outside CERN) can be found on the
CERN/IT cvs pages. In the
documentation just always replace the last part of the path by
lhcbonline
